One never forgets the first (even friendly) bear encounter!
This was our first “Canadian Adventure”, straight into the famous “Canadian Rockies”.
In the Willmore Park we experienced the spectacular High Mountain passes, pristine meadows filled with vibrant flowers and trails ridden long ago and virtually unchanged since the days of the early explorers.
Alberta is still pretty much "cowboy country". We quicly learned that the black hat is the working hat, the white one if for going 'downtown' on a saturday evening'.
Preparing for this Rocky Mountains horse packing trip was both fun and challenging. Both of us had no experience whatsoever with horse riding. We had to get used to the long days of active riding and there for took the necessary private classes.
