Through our many adventurous travels over the years we are more than ever convinced that nature is the perfect teacher. When travelling through pristine wilderness, over high mountains or on rough seas, you immediately feel small and humble, a feeling that we tend to loose in this 21first high tec century where we think we can conquer about anything, even nature!Pretty fast you learn from what nature teaches you: if you want to be respected, start respecting mother Earth and it’s creatures first! You learn when to travel and when to stay put and listen to the teachings of the weather elements. You do not ‘conquer’ a mountain; the mountain lets you walk on it. On an expedition or an adventure trip you appreciate your shelter, you appreciate your food and water and you appreciate more than ever simple and true friendship beside the fire. We have always been inspired by the knowledge and natural wisdom of the Indigenous People. To us the inuksuk is an important symbol. An Inuksuk is a pile of rocks in the shape of a person, showing the way. Inuk means 'person' in the Inuit language, suk means ‘substitute’. The inuksuk was used by the Inuit in Canada to show people the way, in order not to choose the wrong direction or make the wrong decision. Through this website we want to share our adventures, our travel experiences, our feelings and our respect for mother Earth with you. Inuksuk wants to inspire you and ask you to use your 5 senses and start to witness what nature can provide you: a never ending teaching book . Happy trails! |
