Through our travels and expeditions, we are more than ever convinced that nature is a perfect teacher. When travelling through pristine wilderness, over high mountains or on rough seas, you immediately feel humble, a state of mind we tend to loose in this 21first high-tech century where we think we can conquer anything !

Being outdoors, you appreciate your shelter, food and water, and you appreciate more than ever true friendship. One learns when to travel and when to stay put and listen to the teachings of the weather elements. One doesn't ‘conquer’ a mountain; the mountain lets one walk on it.

ray How I got to taking part in the Atacama Crossing 2010?

Reading a story about Canadian Ray Zahab’s adventures and ultra races. Ray is showing regular people can do extraordinary things. I said wow, that’s a kind a neat ! I should try out that ultra racing thing.

Once I got myself into trouble, being enlisted to the Atacama Race, I was thinking about a patron for this upcoming project. To me it was obvious from the start that Ray would be the one I would want it to be.

But as far as I was concerned, with a bio like Ray's, there was no chance he was going to say ‘yes I will’. Anyway, I asked him and totally unexpected he said he would be honored! What a blast!

Now I am getting nervous, I can’t screw up now, having Ray Zahab as a patron.

His patronage, but even more his positive vibes are an inspiration for the next 6 months of training and taking part in one of the toughest races on earth.
